My most important work: Me

Although my brand is constantly evolving, my current logo reflects my long-term ambition of creating in support of the Sustainable Development Goals. The change in tone between one letter and another symbolizes the impact of working with SDGs: as I empathize and work towards one of the goals, I also change myself with it. Additionally, the letter "A" in the shape of a mountain reminds me of my journey.

Social Media & UX Writing
Livros & Citações is a project that was created back in November 2010 as a Tumblr blog and later developed into a news portal in February 2012. The aim of the project was to share my love for reading and book-related news, combining it with my passion for design.
Over the past thirteen years, the project has been profitable and has allowed me to travel to many countries around the world. At present, I enjoy spending two hours each day creating content for this project, without any focus on monetization or profit. For me, the satisfaction of my soul is enough (at least for this project because I still need money to live ahahhaha).
In January 2023, I resumed the project and had to relearn about my audience to redesign my content and reach them effectively. Although I initially implemented a more elaborate UI design, I had to make changes after studying its impact on engagement, finally reaching the perfect point to attract my target audience. The impact metrics of these processes can be seen in the images above.
This experience proves that every audience and social network is different, and each social media is a challenge. I am still not open to creating content for TikTok for now, and I could write an entire article about the project goals, perform a SWOT analysis, and explain how being data-driven resulted in the success of the project. However, I'd like to conclude by saying that my ultimate goal was achieved, regardless of the numbers: I am in love, engaged, and having fun with this whole process, and this is priceless.

EcoWayTo & UX Design
Problem Overview:
With an average travel time of 60 minutes each way [1], 60% of University students, including those living in Northern Scarborough’s secluded districts, rely on local and regional transit as their primary mode of travel when commuting to and from campus [1]. With 31% of students stating their commute was a barrier to their academic success [3] relating to only a 48% usage rate of the campus-affiliated transit passes [2] it is proven that there exists a lack of effective public transportation for this demographic. As it costs up to $220 per month [3], these daily commuters require an efficient, consistent, and trustworthy transportation network to minimize daily frustration and maximize time value on their route to academic success.
Creating sustainable transportation options that align with UNSDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Scarborough’s Municipal Transportation Plan is crucial to the success of developing environmental communities in Scarborough and assists in the elimination of Traffic-Related Air Pollution (TRAP) emissions found abundantly in the urban area
Proposed solution:
EcoWayTO helps University students, residing in Scarborough’s secluded neighbourhoods, minimize frustration from the current ineffective forms of transportation by improving the reliability of live-location updates, the optionality of transportation modes, and effective route planning which ultimately leads to an uptick in safer, sustainable transportation behaviours.
EcoWayTO utilizes value-added features such as; user-provided transit location confirmation to ensure the reliability of arrivals and departures, provides transportation options through its ride-sharing platform, and utilizes information gathering to inform decision makers on key metrics for future transit services, all while meeting Municipal Transportation pillars and Municipal GHG Reduction goals
Increasing the occupancy of cars by 25% to 50% (from 1.5 to 1.9 or 2.3) could reduce the carbon footprint between 6.9% and 14.2% [5]
Bus and bicycle have the potential to reduce CF in the 0-4 km distance range, with reductions of up to 17.0% and 37.1%, respectively [5]
Increasing trips by foot in relation to those made by car could reduce CF by 20.5% and achieve an 18.1% monetary saving in travels of 0-3 km. [5]
Carsharing strategy, as well as an increase in the use of public transportation and electric bicycles, have the potential for saving - in economic terms. [5]

Legislative Assembly of BC - Improving UX for democracy
This project taught me a lot about service design. I started by doing desk research, which means gathering information from different sources. Then, I led workshops where people shared their ideas and worked together. We aimed to create a user-friendly MVP, a basic version of a product focused on user experience.
Over the year, I built strong relationships with different people involved in the project. We worked as a team to come up with new ideas and make positive changes. This project showed me how important it is to listen to others, work together, and think about the needs of the users. It was a great learning experience that highlighted the importance of empathy, communication, and collaboration in creating effective and user-friendly solutions.
Here are some of the milestones achieved in this project:
Conducted interviews and built collaborative design through partners.
Performed a literature review (desk research) to understand e-parliament and its Information and Communications Technology.
Conducted A/B testing with around 100 staff members to evaluate different design options.
Developed personas based on website analytics and user data to guide design decisions.
Reviewed BC IM/IT guidelines and built a plan to apply them to the project.
Improved WCAG compliance to achieve a score higher than 90 and implemented BC Sans for accessibility.
